Collaborative Coaching and Learning – A blending of coaching models provides an effective method of guiding rich conversations around planning, reflecting and/or problem-solving situations. This approach engages educators in collaborative dialogue designed to contribute to the development of intellectual capacity in individuals. This training is useful for all levels of educators including teachers, instructional coaches, administrators and school board members.
New Teacher Mentoring – A component of the EveryTeacher Teacher Quality Enhancement grant was to create a mentoring program for first, second and third year teachers. This highly successful program enhanced teaching skills, created teamwork, and fostered enthusiasm for both new teachers and mentor teachers.
Celebrate Every Teacher - 17 minutes of project highlights
Courage to Teach - This program provides professional development to honor and revitalize teachers and other educators. It is based on the ideas put forth in Parker Palmer’s book, The Courage to Teach: Exploring the Inner Landscape of a Teacher’s Life. This approach is rooted in the belief that good teaching flows from the identity and integrity of the teacher. This process invites educators to reclaim their own wholeness and vocational clarity, and makes connections between the renewal of a teacher's spirit and the revitalization of public education.
Socratic Seminars – This experience gives teachers the skills to engage students in dialogue to enlarge their understanding of big ideas, issues, and values. Regular participation in Socratic Seminars helps students to develop reading and critical thinking skills. Socratic Seminars are experiential, with an emphasis on guided practice and active learning.
